Is WordPress the right Content Management System for you?
July 23, 2018

A Content Management System (CMS) is a way to manage your content.
Or more specifically, a CMS can be used to create, edit, and/or manage your work, which is usually then stored in a database. This makes everything easier to manage rather than doing things over and over again (like you used to have to do back in the day).
There are dozens of Content Management Systems available for use today. The one we use and love is WordPress.
WordPress started off as a blogging platform and now is the backbone behind some of the largest sites in the world.
You do not need to have some custom (expensive) licensed CMS, most websites can be built using WordPress.
- WordPress is free and open source
- Easy to use
- Easy to extend functionality
- Stores images
- Plugins
- Easy to write text
WordPress might not be the “perfect” fit (no free, open source CMS will be), but the ease of use, ability to customize, and themes, makes for a pretty compelling argument why WordPress is a solid choice for any website.
